People stay in northern Phu Quoc for one reason: the Vinpearl complex. VinWonders, Vinpearl Safari and GrandWorld are all up here, and Duong Dong town with its night market is correspondingly far.

So that is the anchor. Line the five properties below up by distance to the VinWonders aquarium and they run from 750m to 2.1km. But that order does not match the order of convenience.

Shuttle, or Grab

This is what actually separates the five.

  • Wyndham Garden GrandWorld — the VinWonders shuttle terminates at the door. Reviews describe always getting a seat going out and simply staying on coming back. GrandWorld is five minutes through the back gate, and a free buggy runs to the beach every 30 minutes
  • Melia Vinpearl Phu Quoc — its own shuttle circles the Vinpearl parks every 30 minutes in the morning and hourly in the afternoon
  • Crowne Plaza Starbay — closer at 1.9km, yet its reviews say VinWonders and the safari need a Grab. A free GrandWorld and airport shuttle exists but does not run often

On a trip that visits the parks most days, that difference compounds. Conversely, if the days end inside the resort, the shuttle stops mattering.

With a primary-school-age child, Crowne Plaza counts them free, and so does Wyndham on a room-only rate — its breakfast rates charge 330,000 VND a night for ages 4 to 11. The order of totals flips with the age, so enter it before comparing.

Within the north the airport distances sit a few kilometres apart, so on arrival and departure days the pickup arrangement matters more than the distance.

Transfers work differently too. Crowne Plaza draws several mentions of a free pickup; Melia’s reviews note that pickup and drop-off must be arranged with the resort by email or phone. Available, not automatic.

When the north is the wrong choice

If town and the night market are the draw, the north does not work. Duong Dong is roughly half an hour by road, and there is generally nothing to walk to.
