Where to Stay in Cam Ranh — 10 to 18 Minutes Out, Nothing to Walk To

Ten to eighteen minutes out, and the city far from all four

Straight-line airport distances run 4.7km (Fusion), 7.3km (Alma), 7.8km (Melia Vinpearl), 10.4km (The Anam) — 10 to 18 minutes by car. City hotels sit in the 25km band at around 40 minutes, so the round trip differs by close to an hour. On an overnight arrival or an early departure, that converts directly into sleep.

The other direction is far for everyone. The railway station runs 16.4km (The Anam) to 19.6km (Alma), and the Vinpearl cable car 11.5–16.8km. The further south you sit, the closer the airport and the further the cable car — inside this strip, those two numbers move against each other.

Distance to the sand varies more than threefold

The strip looks uniform and is not. Bai Dai Beach sits 280m away (The Anam), 630m (Melia Vinpearl), 950m (Alma). Fusion records no landmarks nearby at all and uses its own beach.

All four run private beaches, so those numbers describe how big the grounds are more than how far you walk to the sea. Alma has 580 rooms, The Anam 213, Melia Vinpearl 200 and Fusion 122. On the larger sites, buggy transport is the default rather than the exception.

Child pricing differs by resort

This is the field that trips people up most here.

• The Anam — free only to age 1 on existing bedding; ages 2–5 need an extra bed; six and over count as adults.
• Melia Vinpearl — states that free child stays are not permitted.
• Fusion — free for ages 3 to 5.
• Alma — free up to age 6; ages 7 to 12 are 550,000 VND a night with sofa bed and breakfast.

Which means you cannot compare Cam Ranh resorts on room rate alone if you are bringing children. The same party of four is counted differently at each. Put your real occupancy into the booking screen and watch what happens to the price.

What separates the four

• For the shortest transfer — Fusion Resort Cam Ranh is 4.7km out, roughly 10 minutes. All nine room types are sold with all spa treatments included, so the rate is built differently too. At 122 rooms it is the smallest here.
• When a pool alone will not fill the day — Alma Resort Cam Ranh has a waterpark, tennis courts and karaoke. Five stars, 580 rooms, and families with teenagers are its largest guest group.
• For a bathroom per bedroom — Melia Vinpearl Cam Ranh builds its three-bedroom pool villas that way. Every room is a private pool villa across 200 keys.
• For a quiet stay for two — The Anam Cam Ranh rates 9.4 from couples and 9.5 on service, sits closest to the sand at 280m, and has 213 rooms.

What to weigh before booking any of them

Meals become part of the total. With nothing outside the gate, food defaults to the property, and across three or more nights that is a real line item. Several resorts run paid evening events; reviews are mixed on them.

Water quality is a strip-wide complaint. Shower filters discolouring quickly comes up at both Fusion and Alma. Treat it as a condition of the area rather than a fault of one property.

Budget for moving around the site. On the larger resorts a buggy is standard, and reviews mention both waiting times and inconsistent driver service. Worth checking ahead if you have heavy luggage or anyone with limited mobility.

Short stays do not use what you pay for. Alma records an average stay of two nights, and reviews describe even that as too short.
