Jungmun Resorts — What the Pool Faces, and the Age a Child Starts Paying
The resort hotels in Jungmun, Jeju compared. Distance to the beach runs from 350m to 1.3km, the pools look at very different things, and free-child ages differ at every property.

Jungmun is the right area when half your day ends inside the property. Jeju International Airport is around 30km away, 40 to 50 minutes by car, which makes this an awkward base for arrival and departure days. In exchange, Jungmun Saekdal Beach, Cheonjeyeon Falls and the Jusangjeolli Cliff all sit within three kilometres, so a morning on foot and an afternoon by the pool genuinely works.
That much is common to the whole area. What separates the properties is two things — how close the sand is, and what you look at from the pool.

Opened 2022, 307 rooms. The pool is the single most-cited reason for booking in its reviews. The beach, at 770m, is something you look at rather than walk to.

To Jungmun Saekdal Beach: Lotte Hotel Jeju 350m, Parnas Hotel Jeju 770m and Hidden Cliff Hotel & Nature 1.3km. Nearly a fourfold spread.
The order holds for everything else. Cheonjeyeon Falls sits at 800m, 1.3km and 1.6km; the Jusangjeolli Cliff at 1.9km, 2.6km and 3km. Moving away from the beach also means moving away from the density of the resort strip, which is why the location scores read 9.3, 9.5 and 8.5, with Hidden Cliff dropping off.
The airport is effectively the same for all three at 29.5 to 30.1km, quoted at 40 to 50 minutes. If you stay in Jungmun, the airport is far — that is the premise of the area. Lotte Hotel Jeju lists a complimentary airport transfer among its highlights; Parnas lists the same service without a free-of-charge marker.
Does the pool face the sea or the forest?
All three have pools, and they are not the same proposition.
- Parnas Hotel Jeju has an outdoor pool that is the single most cited reason for booking across its reviews, which call it an infinity pool and repeatedly mention the sea view from the deck.
- Hidden Cliff Hotel & Nature has a pool facing forest rather than sea. Reviews call this one an infinity pool too; it is listed as heated, but several still describe the water as cold, which matters outside high summer.
- Lotte Hotel Jeju adds a children’s pool and a kids club alongside the outdoor pool, with a bowling alley and games room on the same site. Its reviews also note that the pool and gym are well kept rather than large.
What separates the three
- The age a child stops staying free differs at every property. Hidden Cliff keeps children free under 48 months and Parnas only to 36 months; Parnas bills 37 months to 12 at the child rate, 60,500 KRW as an extra guest in Club rooms. Lotte lists a 24,200 KRW fee for each guest beyond the base occupancy, and from 13 a guest counts as an adult and uses a chargeable extra bed. With children in the party this alone can reverse the running order on total price, so check it first.
- The breakfast maths is different too. On room-only rates, Parnas lists breakfast at 70,000 KRW per adult and 35,000 per child, Hidden Cliff at 45,000 and 28,000. For Lotte, check the breakfast charge on the booking screen before comparing.
- Room size and age split widely. Parnas opened in 2022 with 307 rooms running from a 37 sqm Deluxe to a 112 sqm Club Duplex Suite; Hidden Cliff was built in 2016 with 250 rooms at around 28 sqm. Lotte is the largest at 500 rooms from 2000, and its reviews return to room age.
- The view is written into the room name. Lotte splits mountain, garden, terrace ocean and no view; Parnas splits ocean view and standard view; Hidden Cliff splits cliff, panorama and garden. Here you book a room type, not a hotel.
- Scores: Parnas 9.2 (location 9.5, 13,030 reviews), Lotte 9.1 (location 9.3, 9,434) and Hidden Cliff 8.7 (location 8.5, 9,042).
When Jungmun is the wrong choice
Without a rental car, Jungmun works against you. The airport is 30km straight-line away, leaving the complex requires a car, and there is effectively no walkable strip for dinner.
- For arrival or departure nights, that is Jeju City. Maison Glad Jeju is 2.8km from the airport in the middle of Yeon-dong, and Ocean Suites Jeju Hotel puts Dongmun Market 760m away with the sea on the doorstep.
- For an eastern itinerary, that is Hamdeok. Aimi Jeju Beach Hotel Hamdeok W is 320m from Hamdeok Beach and 16.4km from the airport — beachfront while keeping the airport inside half an hour.
