Jeju City Hotels — You Are Buying the First Night and the Last

Facts checked: 2026-09-27

Seven Jeju City hotels compared. All sit 2–3km from the airport and the bus terminal, so what decides is the shuttle, the check-out hour and which side of town you walk into.

Jeju City is not where you spend the island. The crater lake, the sunrise peak, the beaches and the resorts are all elsewhere. What Jeju City has is the airport and the intercity bus terminal — which is exactly why people book here for the night they arrive and the night before they fly out.

That changes what you should compare. All seven properties below sit 2.2–3.4km straight-line from the airport and 2.2–2.9km from the bus terminal. Both clusters are tight enough that neither number will choose for you.

The market column is the one that actually spreads — 630m to 4.6km, a sevenfold range against 1.2km across the whole airport column. That is the real line through Jeju City: the seafront and market side, or the shopping-district side.

Getting to the airport without a car

Renting a car on Jeju requires an international driving permit, so this matters more here than it would elsewhere in Korea.

  • Lotte City Hotel Jeju is the only one with a guest airport shuttle in its reviews — five separate mentions, one describing it as free for guests. On an early-morning or late-night flight that single fact can end the comparison
  • Shilla Stay Jeju has a bus stop directly outside, per reviews — one guest returned a rental car the day before and took the bus out
  • The rest mean a taxi. A Gloucester review records three minutes to the airport at 5am, which is what 2.3km looks like in practice

Check-out splits by an hour

Noon at Shilla Stay, Ocean Suites and I Jin; 11am at the other four.

On a district you book for the last morning, that hour is the whole point — an afternoon flight with a noon check-out means no luggage room and no waiting in a lobby. On an early flight it changes nothing. Check your departure time before you read that column.

Which way you walk in the evening

  • The sea and the market — Hotel RegentMarine The Blue and Ocean Suites Jeju, at 630m and 760m from Dongmun Market with the Tapdong waterfront outside. Reviews return again and again to evening walks and early runs along the sea path. RegentMarine’s 21,193 reviews are the largest sample in this list
  • The shopping district — Shilla Stay Jeju and Maison Glad Jeju. One international guest describes a pedestrian street opposite with restaurants and two duty-free shops nearby; another notes late-opening places to eat. Maison Glad sits in the same district but reviews call the grounds themselves quiet
  • A bed and nothing else — Gloucester Hotel Jeju. Its own reviews say there is no facility beyond the convenience store, and call it a good place for a traveller passing through. That is a defined role, not a flaw
  • I Jin Hotel carries a location score of 8.4 — the only one below 9 here. Reviews explain it: five to six minutes on foot to a bus stop, ten to the centre. It sits one street back from everything

Parking, if you did rent a car

This appears nowhere in the facility data and consistently in the reviews.

HotelWhat reviews repeat
Lotte City Hotel JejuA large, easy car park
Maison Glad JejuContradictory — “free, plenty of space, in and out any time” alongside “far too small”
Hotel RegentMarine The BlueUnderground, with a stacker and valet when full
Ocean Suites JejuUnderground, with a large supermarket next door
I Jin HotelTight underground, but the public car park fee is covered and free at weekends
Gloucester Hotel Jeju“Hard to park arriving late at night”, “parking is inconvenient” — repeatedly

Gloucester is the awkward combination: near the top of the list for airport distance, and the clearest parking complaint in it. If you will arrive late with a car, weigh that.

If you stay more than one night

The facility gap is wide. Confirmed facilities only:

Three have a pool — Maison Glad, Lotte City and RegentMarine, though the booking-site notice lists Lotte City’s outdoor pool as closed from November to March, so check it for those months. On a one-night stopover you will not use any of it, so this table only matters from the second night on.

With children, age four goes two ways

Maison Glad Jeju lists ages 4–12 as free. Ocean Suites Jeju counts guests from age four as adults, with extra charges. The same child is free at one and a paying adult at the other.

The other five state no child policy, so enter ages and occupancy before comparing totals. Shilla Stay notes that child occupancy depends on the rate you select.

When Jeju City is the wrong base

How this list is put together

  • Verified distances to Jeju Airport, the intercity bus terminal and Dongmun Market
  • How you reach the airport — shuttle, bus stop or taxi differs by property
  • Check-out times and parking, which decide most on the nights this district is booked for
  • Confirmed facilities, and the child age rules that change the total
  • Complaints that recur rather than appear once

Distances come from Agoda property data, with the verification date on each hotel page. Shuttle operation and parking arrangements are drawn from recurring guest reviews, so confirm them when you book. This is researched from booking sources rather than written from a stay, and it does not quote rates.
