Where to Stay on My Khe Beach — Resort Days or City Evenings
Five My Khe Beach hotels sorted by trip: resorts built on the sand, two-bedroom suites for families who need separate rooms, self-catering, and the north end for city evenings.

My Khe is the stretch for a trip that wants the sea in the daytime and a restaurant strip in the evening — a family of four with school-age children, three generations in one booking, or a couple whose holiday is half swimming. Wherever you stay on this line, the morning starts at a pool or on the sand, and dinner is a walk to the seafood restaurants behind the coast road or a taxi into town.
The reason to choose it is that you give up neither the beach nor the city. The thing to accept is that “beach hotel” means two different things here. Two of the five are built on the sand, so you walk from the pool onto the beach; the others sit across the coast road from it. Distance to Han Market hardly changes the booking — the north and south ends are a few minutes apart by taxi, and that gap only adds up if you go into the city every evening. This guide sorts the five by that logic, not by map position.

Hotels
- A La Carte Da Nang Beach
No standard rooms here — every unit is a studio or a suite, and the two-bedroom types give a family separate doors. Afternoons go to the rooftop infinity pool; the sand is across the coast road; the rooms run dim.
My Khe Beach reference point 150m · Not beachfront — the coast road sits between the building and the sand

70m to the sand at the north end of My Khe, every unit a 60–180㎡ suite, kitchens and washers in some types — built for longer stays.
My Khe Beach reference point 1.1km · The beach out front is public — no private section
Check current rate on Agoda - Furama Resort Danang
Da Nang's first-generation beach resort. The lagoon pool running into a private beach is the draw; the 1997 build and the 11am checkout are the trade-offs.
My Khe Beach reference point 1.9km · Opened 1997, last renovated 2013 — fittings complaints recur in reviews

Built on the sand with the pool running into it, children's facilities that usually come with a much bigger resort — and Han Market 4.6km away by car.

What a day on My Khe looks like
Mornings are much the same everywhere; midday is when you get out of the sun. Reviews say the rooftop pool at A La Carte and the fourth-floor pool at Risemount have no shade at noon (one review each), while two describe palms shading Furama’s lagoon pool.
Evenings differ by property. A La Carte guests repeatedly mention walking to seafood restaurants, massage shops and fruit stalls behind the hotel; Pullman guests mention the restaurants across the road and the convenience store opposite. For Han Market, the Dragon Bridge or the riverside, everyone takes a taxi — two Risemount reviews say Han Market needs a Grab, and one Pullman review puts the city at about ten minutes by Grab, fitting a morning swim, a city dinner and a late return to the beach into one day. Arrival is short: 11 to 18 minutes from the airport by car.
Sand inside the grounds — Furama Resort and Pullman Danang Beach
Of the five, Furama Resort Danang and Pullman Danang Beach Resort are the two whose grounds run onto the sand: both official descriptions place the resort on the beach, and reviews of both repeatedly describe walking from the pool straight onto it. The “private beach” each advertises is the stretch the resort looks after, not a closed one — Vietnamese law keeps the shoreline open to the public. If you will rarely leave the resort over three nights, choose between these two.
Furama has the lagoon pool under palms and a main pool, a kids’ club and tennis courts, and sells hotel rooms and one- to four-bedroom pool villas on one site. Three things to weigh: it opened in 1997 and was last renovated in 2013, and three reviews call the fittings dated; checkout is 11am, the earliest of the five; and only under-4s stay free, so children aged 4–11 pay a nightly rate even in their parents’ bed. If you book a villa, one review says only resort-managed villas get lagoon pool access while privately let villas use the central pool — ask first.
Pullman is smaller at 186 rooms, with a kids’ club, tennis courts and a one-bedroom cottage set apart from the main building (130㎡ on the official site). Children stay free up to age 11 on existing bedding, the widest band of the five and the easiest fit for two children under twelve, though the number of free children varies by rate. Two separate parties report a rollaway for a third guest at no charge, but that is a review, not a policy. One review notes poor sound insulation on the ground floor and another a noisy tour group next door.
Separate bedrooms for a family — A La Carte two-bedroom suites
If you need two bedrooms off one living room rather than a villa, the two-bedroom suites at A La Carte Da Nang Beach Hotel fit. One review describes two families sharing one with a bathroom in each bedroom; another chose it to give a child a separate bed. A variant with “(2 pax, balcony)” in the name carries a different occupancy, so read the full room name, and children aged 6–11 are charged VND 400,000 a night with breakfast. The kitchenette has a microwave but no crockery, according to two reviews — do not plan to cook. Dim room lighting is the most repeated complaint of any property here, in four reviews.
For a party that needs a whole villa, look at Furama’s one- to four-bedroom pool villas above, or compare across the city in Da Nang pool villas.
Self-catering and longer stays — Altara Suites
Altara Suites Danang is apartment-style: every unit is a 60–180㎡ suite with one or two bedrooms (a three-bedroom type shows on the booking listing but not on the official site, so check before booking). Two reviews mention the washer and dryer, one cooking simple meals, one a family of five in two bedrooms with three beds, one a group of eight in a single unit, and two a supermarket on the third floor. Kitchen and washer vary by room type, so check the inclusion on the booking screen. Under the property’s policy a suite takes two children at most and ages 6–11 carry a nightly surcharge, so with three children ask before booking.
Accept the lifts: 33 floors on three lifts, with waiting mentioned in four reviews. The beach in front is public and not looked after by the property, three reviews say the building is a little removed from the busiest part of the strip, and two had a construction-site view — ask about floor and aspect.
Evenings in the city — Risemount Premier and A La Carte
If the city is on the plan every evening, the two northern properties shorten every taxi ride, and Risemount is the closest of the five to the airport at 11 minutes.
Risemount Premier Resort Danang is on Nguyen Van Thoai rather than the coast road — the only one of the five not at a Vo Nguyen Giap address. One review puts the beach under ten minutes on foot; two say cafés, restaurants and a supermarket are walkable for an evening errand. One mentions motorbike noise through the window at night, so ask for a quieter room. No free-stay age band is listed.
A La Carte belongs here too. Two reviews say My Khe is just across the road, and two mention watching the Dragon Bridge fire show from the rooftop infinity pool. The sand is not part of the grounds, but it keeps both the beach and a city dinner close, which suits a two-night stay.
The five side by side
The “My Khe Beach reference point” column is the straight-line distance to that point, not to the sand in front of the property. Furama and Pullman in the south are built on the beach according to their official descriptions, and Altara states 70m to the beach — so read that column as distance from the central restaurant strip, not from the water.
| Property | My Khe Beach reference point | Han Market | Airport (car) | Beach access | Free stay (children) | Checkout |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A La Carte Da Nang Beach | 150m | 2.8km | 14 min | Across the coast road | Ages 0–5 (6–11: VND 400,000/night) | 12:00 |
| Altara Suites | 1.1km | 3.0km | 16 min | Across the coast road | Ages 0–5 (6–11: surcharge) | 12:00 |
| Risemount Premier | 650m | 2.8km | 11 min | Inland street | Not listed | 12:00 |
| Furama Resort | 1.9km | 4.5km | 15 min | Grounds on the sand | Ages 0–3 (4–11: VND 327,000/night) | 11:00 |
| Pullman Danang Beach | 1.8km | 4.6km | 18 min | Grounds on the sand | Ages 0–11 | 12:00 |
Free-stay ages mostly assume existing bedding, and the figures in brackets are the nightly child charges in each hotel’s policy. Rate plans can add conditions, so enter children’s ages on the booking screen. Distances are straight-line, and the verification date is on each hotel page.
When My Khe is the wrong stretch — Non Nuoc and the Han River
If the Marble Mountains are the point of the trip, go south to Non Nuoc Beach: Melia Danang Beach is 640m from them with its own beach, but Han Market is 9.3km away, so every city dinner is a drive.
If you want to walk to the market and the cathedral and see the beach once, stay on the west bank of the Han River instead. Novotel Danang Premier Han River is 1.1km from Han Market with no pool — the opposite choice to this strip. If bedroom count comes first, Da Nang family rooms and Da Nang pool villas compare across the whole city.
How properties get onto this list
- Whether the grounds run onto the sand or sit across the coast road — judged from each property’s official description. “Private beach” here means the stretch the resort looks after
- Room configuration by party size — bedrooms, a bathroom per bedroom, kitchen and washer
- Drawbacks that recur in guest reviews — a single report is labelled as one
- Free-stay ages, child charges and checkout time
- Verified distances and drive times to Han Market and the airport — kept to the table
This is research compiled before booking, not a first-hand stay report. For the comparison that includes stretches beyond this one, see Where to Stay in Da Nang.
