Novotel Danang Han River
This is 36 Bach Dang on the west bank of the Han River, 1.1km from Han Market. It is the choice to skip the beach and take the city instead, and the payoff is evenings that happen on foot rather than in a car. Children up to 15 stay free — the widest range in our Da Nang set — and kitchen-equipped apartments sit alongside the standard rooms. The cost is that the beach becomes a drive, and reviews note the midday heat makes even 1.1km a taxi ride.

Location & getting around
The hotel is at 36 Bach Dang, facing the Han River from the city side. It is the only property in our Da Nang set that is not on the coast, and the numbers behave completely differently as a result.
Han Market 1.1km, the railway station 1.6km, and Da Nang International 3.3km at about 15 minutes. The closest any My Khe property gets to that market is 2.8km, so this is less than half. The Han River swing bridge is 1km, Da Nang Cathedral 1.2km, the Cao Dai temple 1km and DHC Marina 1.8km — the city’s landmarks sit inside a one-kilometre band. The nearby data also lists the Da Nang Museum and a river viewpoint as walkable.
Reviews back that up: under ten minutes on foot to Han Market, and getting around without booking a Grab at all. One describes walking the riverfront to the Dragon Bridge morning and evening. There is a cruise jetty out front, and one review notes that a river night-cruise booking used the hotel’s outside car park as the meeting point.
Two caveats. The first is heat — being able to walk 1.1km and wanting to walk it at 1pm are different things, and at least one review ended in a taxi. The second is the beach, which from here is a drive on every day it appears in the plan. The nearest hospital is 260m.
Rooms & occupancy
Built in 2013 and refurbished in 2022, with 418 rooms — the largest property in our Da Nang set.
Rooms divide by view and by whether there is a kitchen. Views split into Han River, Dragon Bridge and city, with balconies on most types. Reviews single out the night view from the 22nd and 25th floors and describe balconies wide enough to sit out on with the river in front. One notes there is only one corner unit per floor.
For a kitchen, the apartments are the answer: studio apartments include one, the one-bedroom runs about 49–56㎡ and the two-bedroom about 85㎡. The two-bedroom takes one king bed and two singles, so four people fit in a single unit with a living room and a bathtub.
Above those sits the Executive Corner, which comes with Premier Lounge access.
The specific complaint worth knowing is circulation. One review describes there being no direct lift from the apartment floors down to the 4th-floor breakfast room and pool, requiring the stairs or a different lift. Another describes a connecting-room request arriving as three separate rooms, with sound carrying through a connecting door shared with strangers. On the other side, one review notes the room doors were thick enough that corridor noise barely registered. Check-in is 2pm, check-out midday.

Facilities
There is a restaurant and coffee shop, a bar-lounge, an executive lounge, a spa and massage rooms, a beauty salon, a sauna, a fitness centre, a nightclub, a business centre and function space. Room service runs 24 hours; self-parking is free, and laundry, dry cleaning and express check-in and check-out are available.
A pool appears in the property’s own bar description and in multiple reviews describing morning swims. It does not, however, appear in the facility list extracted from Agoda’s photo captions — so it is worth confirming size and opening hours at booking. Reviews describe it as on the small side, with one guest timing visits around quieter hours and another noting it emptied out once tour groups had left.
Breakfast is the strongest single item here. It runs as a buffet with continental options, and reviews repeatedly mention Korean dishes, pick out the pho, and note the menu rotating enough that consecutive mornings did not repeat. Several describe eating with the river in view.
The remaining niggles are small: one review reports a shower filter discolouring, and another a hairdryer that only ran while the button was held.

Best for
- Evenings spent walking to restaurants and along the river
- Short trips where arrival and departure days still need to be usable
- Families with children up to 15, who stay free here
Not ideal if
- You want sand outside the door — the beach is a drive from here
- The plan is to spend whole days on resort grounds
- You expect to walk everywhere including at midday
Compared & alternatives
To split the difference between beach and city, the north end of the My Khe strip is the compromise. A La Carte Da Nang Beach puts the sand 150m away with Han Market at 2.8km, and Risemount Premier Resort Danang sits 650m from the beach at 2.8km from the market. Both give up some city access to gain the coast.
If the city barely features, everything this hotel is good at stops counting. Hyatt Regency Danang puts sand at the door instead, and its 7.8km to Han Market becomes a number you never use.
How the coast itself divides north to south is in Where to Stay on My Khe Beach; the comparison across all of Da Nang is in Where to Stay in Da Nang.
Bottom line
Most Da Nang bookings start with “which part of the beach.” This hotel moves the question one step back: beach or city at all. For evenings out and morning walks along the river, 1.1km to Han Market and 15 minutes to the airport pay off every single day.
They pay off nothing if beach time is the point of the trip. From here My Khe is a drive, and that driving accumulates in exactly the opposite direction from a beach hotel’s runs into town.
The test is simple: count how many slots in the itinerary are beach and how many are city. If the city wins, this is the address. Rates move with dates, occupancy, view and whether you take an apartment.
FAQ
Can you really walk to Han Market?
It is 1.1km. Reviews describe it as under ten minutes on foot and mention getting around without booking a Grab. Others say the midday heat pushed them into a taxi anyway, so it depends on the hour.
How do you get to the beach?
The hotel is on the city side of the river, so the beach is not walkable. If beach time is most of the trip, book on the coast; if it is one day out of several, driving there from here is the cheaper trade.
Which rooms look over the river?
Room names carry Han River View, Dragon Bridge View and city view separately. Reviews single out the night view from the 22nd and 25th floors and describe balconies wide enough to sit out on. One notes there is only one corner unit per floor.
Are there rooms with a kitchen?
Yes — studio apartments and one and two-bedroom apartments. The one-bedroom runs about 49–56㎡ and the two-bedroom about 85㎡, the latter with one king bed and two single beds, so four people fit in one unit with a living room and a bathtub.
Does it work with children?
Children aged 3–15 stay free under the property's stated policy, the widest band among the Da Nang properties covered here. The caveat from reviews is circulation: from the apartment floors there was no direct lift down to the 4th-floor breakfast room and pool.

Other stays in this city
- A La Carte Da Nang Beach
No standard rooms here — every unit is a studio or a suite, and the two-bedroom types give a family separate doors. Afternoons go to the rooftop infinity pool; the sand is across the coast road; the rooms run dim.
- Risemount Premier Resort Danang
650m to My Khe Beach and 11 minutes from the airport — built for trips that mix beach time with getting into the city.
- Hyatt Regency Danang
360m to Non Nuoc Beach with residences that sleep a whole extended family in one unit — and the shortest run into the city of anything on this stretch.
- Brilliant Hotel Danang
110m to the Han River swing bridge, 600m to Han Market. Reviews repeatedly describe watching the weekend Dragon Bridge fire show from the top-floor bar. One room type says 'no view'.
