Where to Stay in Da Nang — Resort Days With Kids, or Evenings in the City
My Khe, Non Nuoc or the city west of the Han River — which Da Nang area fits resort days with children, evenings out on foot, a Hoi An side trip, or one night between flights.

Da Nang has three places to stay: the My Khe strip along the coast road, Non Nuoc where that strip runs out to the south, and the city on the west bank of the Han River. A booking site files all three under “Da Nang hotels.” They are not the same holiday — what is outside the door in the morning and how dinner happens change with the area, so it is quicker to choose the area from the trip than to start from a hotel.
Start with the trip, not the hotel
| The trip | The area | Why it fits | What you accept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Family of four, four nights at the resort | Non Nuoc | Private beach on the facility list, kids club, residences with kitchens | Every city evening is a car ride |
| Couple, three nights, dinner out and the river at night | The city | Han Market and the Dragon Bridge on foot, the fire show from a rooftop | The beach is a drive; pools are small |
| Beach by day, city restaurants by night | My Khe | The coast, with the city a taxi away | North end has no private beach; south end is further from town |
| Two families or grandparents along, one unit | My Khe south · family rooms | Three- and four-bedroom villas; suites with kitchen and washer | The restaurant strip is 1.9km — dinner out is a drive |
| Hoi An as a side trip, or half the stay | Non Nuoc south or Hoi An itself | Between Da Nang and Hoi An, so the driving does not all run one way | Furthest of the three from Da Nang’s centre |
| One night between flights | The city | Airport around ten minutes by road; reviews mention late check-in and luggage held | No beach in a one-day stay |

THE DISTRICTS
Browse by theme
- Central Da Nang
Four central Da Nang hotels compared. All sit 510m to 1.1km from Han Market, so distance decides nothing — what you meet outside does: cathedral, swing bridge or Dragon Bridge.
- Where to Stay on My Khe Beach
Five My Khe Beach hotels sorted by trip: resorts built on the sand, two-bedroom suites for families who need separate rooms, self-catering, and the north end for city evenings.
- Non Nuoc Beach, Da Nang
Choosing between the three Non Nuoc Beach resorts in Da Nang. Han Market is 7.8km at the closest, so evenings mean a car — in exchange the sand starts at the property line.
- Family Hotels
Da Nang stays where four or more can share one booking. The split that matters is not the star rating but whether the beds sit in one room or behind separate bedroom doors.
- Pool Villas
Two different things show up under Da Nang pool villas — villas sold alongside hotel rooms or residences in the same resort, and rooms where pool is only in the name.
12 hotels in this city Each with its district, straight-line distances and its own page. Ordered by guest score.
- Brilliant Hotel Danang
110m to the Han River swing bridge, 600m to Han Market. Reviews repeatedly describe watching the weekend Dragon Bridge fire show from the top-floor bar. One room type says 'no view'.
- Novotel Danang Han River
The only property in our Da Nang set that is not on the coast. Evenings happen on foot instead of by car — and the beach becomes the thing you drive to.
- Satya Da Nang Han Market
70m to Da Nang Cathedral, 160m to the Han River swing bridge, 510m to Han Market. A 9.6 location score, and every listed room type comes with a balcony.
- Vanda Hotel
470m to the Dragon Bridge, nine minutes to the airport. A four-star with 112 rooms in central Da Nang, and the phrase reviews keep using is that the interiors feel brand new.
- A La Carte Da Nang Beach
No standard rooms here — every unit is a studio or a suite, and the two-bedroom types give a family separate doors. Afternoons go to the rooftop infinity pool; the sand is across the coast road; the rooms run dim.
- Altara Suites Danang
70m to the sand at the north end of My Khe, every unit a 60–180㎡ suite, kitchens and washers in some types — built for longer stays.
- Furama Resort Danang
Da Nang's first-generation beach resort. The lagoon pool running into a private beach is the draw; the 1997 build and the 11am checkout are the trade-offs.
- Pullman Danang Beach
Built on the sand with the pool running into it, children's facilities that usually come with a much bigger resort — and Han Market 4.6km away by car.
- Risemount Premier Resort Danang
650m to My Khe Beach and 11 minutes from the airport — built for trips that mix beach time with getting into the city.
- Hyatt Regency Danang
360m to Non Nuoc Beach with residences that sleep a whole extended family in one unit — and the shortest run into the city of anything on this stretch.
- Melia Danang Beach
210m to Non Nuoc Beach and 640m to the Marble Mountains, with a kids club and children's pool — but the city is a real drive from here.
- Naman Retreat Danang
200m to Non Nuoc Beach with a private stretch, and pool villas from 100㎡ to 570㎡ whose names include the spa. The cost is 26 minutes to the airport.
Non Nuoc — the day happens inside the resort
Here the morning starts at the pool and the sand is behind it. All three properties — Hyatt Regency, Meliá Danang Beach and Naman Retreat — list a private beach and a kids club among their facilities, with the sand 200–360m away. If the day runs pool, beach, dinner on the property, the distance to town is a number you never spend.
For a family of four, three things decide it. Hyatt lets children stay free up to age 12, while Meliá’s free band stops at 5 and ages 6–11 pay VND 250,000 a night (rate and bedding conditions apply — confirm when booking). Hyatt’s one-to-three-bedroom residences come with a kitchen, which keeps a family in one unit instead of two rooms. Meliá has a kids club, and the Marble Mountains are 640m away — reviews describe walking there as a half-day break from the beach.
What you accept is the flip side of the quiet: reviews at all three mention how little there is outside the gate, and a city dinner means a car each way. Naman is the one to know for a Hoi An plan — several reviews put both Da Nang and Hoi An under 30 minutes by Grab, so for a stay split between the two it sits in the middle rather than at the far end. Where to Stay on Non Nuoc Beach compares the three.
My Khe — beach and city in one day, and one unit for a large party
The My Khe strip is for trips that want the sea in the morning and the city after dark. The sand is not the same along it. At the north end, A La Carte and Altara Suites face a public beach across the coast road (150m and 70m), and Risemount is 650m back from the water. At the south end, Furama and Pullman are built on the sand according to their official descriptions, and their pools run straight onto it.
Of the twelve properties compared in Da Nang, this strip has the widest choice of family layouts. A La Carte is all studios and suites, so a two-bedroom unit is a normal booking. Altara’s suites run 60–180m², some with a kitchen and washer. For grandparents or two families, Furama has villas up to four bedrooms plus a Family Connecting Room. Pullman, at 186 rooms, keeps a kids club and tennis courts without the scale of the bigger resorts.
Dinner goes one of two ways. At the north end, several A La Carte reviews describe restaurants, massage shops and fruit stalls immediately behind the hotel, with the city’s restaurant streets a taxi away. At Furama and Pullman in the south the restaurant strip is 1.8–1.9km, so eating out is a drive every evening. Where to Stay on My Khe Beach sets out north against south.
The city, west bank of the Han — evenings on foot and the arrival-day night
This is the choice that gives up the beach and takes the evening. Four hotels stand along the west bank — cathedral, swing bridge, Dragon Bridge — and what you meet on stepping out sets the night. At Satya the cathedral is 70m away and reviews repeatedly put Han Market at under a five-minute walk. Brilliant reviews list Han Market, Con Market, the Dragon Bridge and the night market as reachable on foot. Vanda has a run of local restaurants behind it, and both Brilliant and Vanda have rooftop bars from which reviews describe the weekend fire show. Novotel reviews put Han Market at under ten minutes on foot and mention getting around without booking a Grab.
A single night in the centre on arrival or departure day works from here. The airport is around ten minutes by road from all four, and reviews mention an easy check-in after a 9pm arrival and luggage held until an airport transfer. With children, Novotel lists free stays up to age 15 — the widest range of the twelve compared here — and Satya’s score from families with children is 8.9.
Two things to accept. The beach is a car ride every time, and Satya reviews repeatedly call the pool small. Walking in the evening and walking at midday are different: at least one Novotel review ended in a taxi because of the heat. Central Da Nang stays compares the four.
Which area to skip
- Days planned inside a resort — skip the city. None of the four central hotels is on a beach, and the pools are small or, at Novotel, not on the facility list
- Evenings you want to walk — skip Non Nuoc. Every dinner outside the property is a car
- A one- or two-night stay — skip Non Nuoc and the south end of My Khe. The airport is 20–26 minutes from Non Nuoc against around ten from the city, a large share of a short trip
Checking it against the distances
The numbers behind the choices above. Distances are the straight-line figures from the listings, not walking routes; the evening column records only what reviews describe.
| Area | To Han Market | Airport | Beach | Evening |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The city, west bank | 510m – 1.1km | 9–15 min by road | A drive | On foot — markets, cathedral, Dragon Bridge (reviews) |
| My Khe strip | 2.8 – 4.6km | 11–18 min | Across the road, 70–150m (north) · at the property (south) · 650m (Risemount) | North: streets behind the hotel on foot (reviews); city by taxi |
| Non Nuoc | 7.8 – 9.3km | 20–26 min | Private, 200–360m | On the property; Da Nang or Hoi An under 30 min by Grab (reviews) |
The airport is under half an hour from all three areas, so it does not choose between them. Where dinner happens, and what is outside the door in the morning, does.
Areas not compared here
Other Da Nang guides list five areas. Two have no property in this comparison: Son Tra, the peninsula north of the strip — quiet, with the Linh Ung pagoda, and a drive from everything — and Bac My An, the stretch between My Khe and Non Nuoc, whose properties appear under the My Khe and Non Nuoc pages according to where they stand.
By room type rather than area
- Four or more in one unit — Da Nang family rooms splits one-room family suites from layouts with bedrooms behind their own doors
- Pool villas only — Da Nang pool villas separates villas sold alongside hotel rooms from rooms where “pool” is only in the name
View, balcony and private-pool inclusion often differ by a single word, so read the full room name before booking.
How we choose
- Realistic layouts for the party — bedrooms, kitchen and washer, free-stay ages for children
- How the beach is reached — at the property, across a road, or by car
- Where dinner ends up, and whether reviews describe walking to it
- Drawbacks that recur across guest reviews
- Drive time to the airport — it matters mainly on short trips
Season, sea conditions and airport transport are not covered here; confirm them when you book.
