Where to Stay in Nha Trang — Four Areas That Do Not Substitute
Nha Trang splits four ways — Cam Ranh, the city, Hon Tre island and the north coast. The airport runs 10–18 minutes from one and 40 from another, and that decides the trip.

- Where to Stay in Cam Ranh
For a resort stay near Nha Trang's airport: four Cam Ranh resorts 10–18 minutes from arrivals, with the city about 40 minutes away. Child policies differ.
- Hon Tre Island Vinpearl Resorts
Three Vinpearl resorts on Hon Tre Island compared. Unit counts run from 84 to 651 — nearly eightfold — and the location scores run the other way.
- Where to Stay in Tan Lap
Four Tan Lap hotels in central Nha Trang, 510–660m from the beach in a straight line and about 40 minutes from the airport. Room layouts and facilities set them apart.
- Pool Villas
Nha Trang and Cam Ranh pool villas read room by room. Inside one resort some villas come with a private pool and others do not, and the airport runs from 10 minutes to a full hour.

- Alma Resort Cam Ranh
580 rooms, five stars, and a waterpark. Families with teenagers are the largest guest group here — unusual for Cam Ranh, and it shows in the facility list.
- Fusion Resort Cam Ranh
4.7km from Cam Ranh airport, about 10 minutes — the shortest transfer we have recorded here. Every room type includes spa treatments, and nothing sits outside the gate.
- Melia Vinpearl Cam Ranh
Every room is a private-pool villa, and the airport is 12 minutes away — but the city is not.
- The Anam Cam Ranh
18 minutes from Cam Ranh airport, but 25km from Nha Trang city. Couples rate it 9.4, the highest of any guest type here.
- Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang
The smallest resort on Hon Tre Island, where the only verified room type is a private-pool villa.
- Vinpearl Nha Trang Bay
870m to VinWonders — but you arrive by cable car or boat, and move around the island by buggy.
- Vinpearl Resort Nha Trang
The closest of three Hon Tre resorts to VinWonders, with a confirmed kids club and a clinic guests describe as staffed around the clock.
- Amiana Resort Nha Trang
9.0 overall across 19,000 reviews. It sits outside town — but no boat required, and you can snorkel straight off the beach.
- Le's Cham Hotel
9.8 for location — the highest we have recorded in Nha Trang. A convenience store at 610m and the mall at 990m, but only eight room types to work with.
- LeMore Hotel Nha Trang
9.7 for location across 12,500 reviews, 530m from the beach. Four triple room types and two quads, in a city where most hotels stop at three.
- Regalia Gold Nha Trang
A 9.6 location score on Agoda. The beach is 510m away and the railway station 1.5km — built for a trip spent out in the city.
- SEAESTA Nha Trang
9.2 overall and 9.4 from families with children. Three family room types plus connecting rooms make it easy to split a party in the city; ages 6 to 11 add 165,000 VND a night with breakfast.
Nha Trang splits four ways, and none of the four substitutes for another. Listings make them look interchangeable; they are more than half an hour apart and produce completely different trips.
The airport is what separates them most. Cam Ranh 10–18 minutes, the city about 40, and Hon Tre adds a cable car or a boat on top of that. On a two or three night trip that difference costs half a day.
| Area | Airport | Built around |
|---|---|---|
| Cam Ranh peninsula | 10–18 min | Staying on the property |
| The city (Tan Lap) | ~40 min | Walking out to eat |
| Hon Tre island | ~40 min + cable car | The Vinpearl parks |
| North coast | ~1 hour | A private beach without the island |
Cam Ranh peninsula — closest to the airport, nothing to walk to
4.7–10.4km from Cam Ranh International, a 10–18 minute drive. You can be resting the day you land, and this is where the private-pool villas are concentrated.
There is nothing to walk out to. City restaurants and the night market mean a car every time. Choose this area on the assumption the day ends on the property.
Child pricing differs sharply between these resorts, and one lets only infants up to 1 stay free — set out in where to stay in Cam Ranh. For villas alone, see Nha Trang pool villas.
The city (Tan Lap) — walk out to eat, at 40 minutes from the airport
The beach promenade and the restaurants are within walking distance. The trade is about 25km straight-line to the airport — roughly 40 minutes — and fewer true resort facilities.
The Tan Lap block behind the beach holds most of that inventory, and since those hotels are all roughly the same distance from the airport, what separates them is occupancy and facilities rather than location.
Hon Tre island — the Vinpearl complex, reached by cable car or boat
Decisive if the trip is built around VinWonders and Vinpearl Land. The whole island is one Vinpearl complex — the three resorts covered here belong to the same operator and share an address.
So distance separates little here, and size separates the rest. Unit counts run from 84 to 651 — nearly eightfold — and the location scores run the other way. Hon Tre Island Vinpearl resorts compares the three.
The cost is the crossing. Every trip on or off the island is a cable car or a boat, and the airport is a further 40 minutes after that. Guests also note there is no shop on the island — you go to the harbour for one.
North coast — a private beach without the island
Reachable by Grab rather than a boat, with a private beach of its own. The trade is roughly 8km from the city centre and 31.7km to the airport — about an hour.
It is the quietest of the four, which is another way of saying it has the longest transfers.
Choosing between the four
- A few days resting inside a resort → Cam Ranh
- Walking out to eat every evening → the city
- The parks with children → Hon Tre island
- A quiet private beach without a boat → the north coast
Trying to get two of these from one hotel leaves you with neither. There is no address that satisfies both Cam Ranh and the city — the 30-minute airport gap simply stays.
How we choose the stays on this list
- Real distance and drive time to the airport
- What is solved on-site versus what requires leaving the property
- Realistic room configurations for parties of three or more
- Drawbacks that come up repeatedly in guest reviews
Worth knowing about Nha Trang
Cam Ranh International Airport is closer to the resort strip than to the city. Resort-area properties are 10–18 minutes away; city hotels are 30 minutes or more. That gap decides whether your arrival and departure days are usable.
Child pricing is not standard here. Free occupancy usually ends at around five, and one Cam Ranh resort lets only infants up to 1 stay free. If you are travelling with children, put your real party size into the booking screen rather than comparing room rates.
For villas, the number of bedrooms and whether a private pool is included drive the price. The names are easy to confuse, so read the full room name before booking.
