The RomeHello
It fits when you want the Termini transport without the Termini forecourt, and a kitchen and laundry matter to how you travel. It does not fit if you want a conventional hotel front desk experience, or if 640m with luggage after a flight is the wrong start.

- Closest of the Termini seven to the Pantheon (1.5km) and St Peter's (3.4km)

- 640m to Termini — the longest walk of the seven
- Dorms and private rooms share the building, so it is not a quiet hotel
The longest walk in the area, and what it buys
At 640m from Termini this is the furthest of the seven properties we compare in this area. That looks like a drawback on its own line. Read the row across and it stops looking like one.
| Distance | Rank among the Termini seven | |
|---|---|---|
| Roma Termini | 640m | furthest |
| Pantheon | 1.5km | closest |
| St Peter’s Basilica | 3.4km | closest |
| Colosseum | 1.5km | fourth of seven |
| Fiumicino Airport | 24.1km | — |
Every metre you walk away from the station is a metre towards the old city. This address sits on Via Torino, on the far side of the station district, and it converts the area’s one weakness — the distance to everything people actually came to see — into its best number.
Rooms — dorm beds and private rooms in the same building
This is the part to understand before booking. Doubles, twins, triples and quads are sold alongside dormitory beds, which is why the price sits where it does and why the building is social rather than quiet.
The triples and quads are the practical draw. Rome is short of anything above a double, and three of the twelve reviews we read describe the rooms as roomier than expected — one family of three, one party who upgraded from a ten-bed dorm to a four-bed on arrival. Private rooms come with their own bathroom; dorm bookings share.
If you want a corridor where nobody is coming back at 2am, this is the wrong building. If you are travelling as three or four and every hotel in the centre is quoting two rooms, this is the answer.

Facilities — a kitchen, a laundry, and things to do
The shared kitchen is the reason people stay here twice. It comes up in four of the twelve reviews we read, described with a fridge, microwave and kettle — one family used it for instant noodles between sightseeing days, which is not a detail a booking page will ever give you.
Laundry sits next to the rooms on at least one floor. Luggage storage after check-out includes a shower, which turns a late flight from a problem into an afternoon. A bar and lounge run downstairs, breakfast is praised for the pastries and coffee, and the property runs organised activities — one parent describes a child joining a cooking class and a board-game night.
Nine of twelve reviews single out staff. For a property at this price that is the outlier number.

Best for
- Longer stays where self-catering saves money
- Families and groups needing triples and quads
- Wanting a step away from the station forecourt
Not ideal if
- You want a quiet, private hotel atmosphere
- You are arriving late with heavy luggage
It is a hostel and a hotel in one building
This is the thing to understand before booking. Dormitory beds and private rooms are sold in the same building, which is why the price sits where it does and why the review score is what it is.
Guests do not treat that as a compromise; they treat it as the product. The shared kitchen appears in four of the twelve reviews we read, described with a fridge, microwave and kettle — one family used it for instant noodles between sightseeing days. Laundry, luggage storage and a shower after check-out come up too. There are organised activities, and one parent describes a child joining a cooking class and a board-game night with other guests.
If you want a front desk, a lift and a quiet corridor, that is a different building. Nine of the twelve reviews single out staff, and seven mention how clean it is, which is a high share for any property.
The Termini district question, from the guest side
One point recurs across the area’s reviews and belongs here rather than buried: guests describe the immediate station forecourt as scruffier than the streets around this address. They are comparing two things a few hundred metres apart. This is worth knowing when you are choosing between the seven — the station side and the Via Torino side are not the same evening.
We have not stayed here. These are patterns across the guest reviews on the booking page, read on the date below, and we only pass on points several people make.
Before you book
- 60 rooms. Doubles, twins, triples and quads are listed — the triple and quad options are the practical reason for families to look here, since rooms for three or more are scarce in Rome
- Check-in 14:00, check-out 11:00
- The 11,351 reviews behind the 9.3 are the deepest sample of any Rome stay on this site — the score is well tested rather than early
- City tax is charged at check-out, rises with the star rating, and is not in the price you booked (the detail is on the Italy page)
Compared with the rest in hotels near Roma Termini; the other five areas are in where to stay in Rome.
FAQ
Is it a hostel or a hotel?
Both are booked in the same building — dormitory beds alongside private doubles, twins, triples and quads. Guests describe communal spaces, a shared kitchen and organised activities, so expect a social building rather than a quiet one.
How far is the station?
640m, the furthest of the seven Termini properties here. In exchange it is the closest of them to the Pantheon at 1.5km and to St Peter's at 3.4km.
Can I cook?
A shared kitchen comes up in four of the twelve reviews we read, described with a microwave, kettle and fridge. Confirm current access and hours at booking.
